Once in full flow and backing tracks intact he begins to find his feet. Beats, organ, bass all come alive topped off by some very intelligent wordplay. Technical difficulties aside, Magic Arm's trickery is something to watch out for in the future and to end on wired and stripped down cover of LCD Soundsystem's 'Daft Punk Is Playing At My House', well, there's no disputing his genius.

The Le Tigre member embarks on her new project for more disjointed synthy party jams.

As an unplanned result of DJ duo/remix/production team of electro-punk band Le Tigre's JD Samson and Johanna Fateman and Samson's side project with Emily Roysdon, Michael O'Neill, and Ginger Brooks Takahashi called 'Hirsute' merging, MEN became the band's live structure as it is today: two guitars, programmed drums, synth and vocals. The Brooklyn-based band and art/performance collective's songs are poppy, dancey, punk, psychedelic jams - such as debut single “Credit Card Babies” on Trouble Records, and second single “Off Our Backs” on IAMSOUND.

Benhind Magic Arm, there's one man : the multi-intsrumentist Marc Rigelsford. He lives in Manchester and he's a one-man band but this time, we don't talk about rock & roll! The debut album "Make List, Do Something" sounds as catchy as experimental and as elecronica as folk... you got it? Last but not least, Iron & Wine's Samuel Beam described Rigelsford as 'the master of the loop pedal.

To watch David Hoyle on stage – his mouth a nasty gash, his eyes two deep wounds – is to find yourself face to face with something unpredictable and unforgettable.

"An anarchic mish-mash of styles, backgrounds and genres" but HV would like to think there's a method behind the Real Dolls' madness.

Electro hip hop funsters The Real Dolls are offering a free download of debut single, Trophy. Rod Hotly says that they chose it as their debut because it was the track that "actually brought the band together."

There aren’t many club nights in Manchester that can boast their own book (endless rehashing of Haçienda glory days aside). But with a loyal following among the city’s artists and makers, it’s perhaps not so surprising that the denizens of Club Brenda have decided to celebrate their first decade with a group creative endeavour. The resulting book, Strange Trees, gets a formal launch tonight at Urbis, with live music, DJs and art all on offer.
