<description>There aren’t many club nights in Manchester that can boast their own book (endless rehashing of Haçienda glory days aside). But with a loyal following among the city’s artists and makers, it’s perhaps not so surprising that the denizens of Club Brenda have decided to celebrate their first decade with a group creative endeavour. The resulting book, Strange Trees, gets a formal launch tonight at Urbis, with live music, DJs and art all on offer.

<description>This year’s panel is exactly the kind of team you want guiding your way into the creative world. Peter Saville, Wayne Hemingway, Jeremy Deller, Tim Marlow, Miranda Sawyer, Yvette Livesey and the Observer Music Monthly’s Luke Bainbridge are all responsible for hand-picking the winners.

<description>‘Move Out’’s sleazy bleep-funk, meanwhile, sounds like the best MIA backing track you’ve never heard, while blues standard ‘Six Cold Feet Of Ground’ is reimagined as a haunting electro-ballad.

<description>There is nothing better than being suprised by an album within a genre that so often disappoints, and Magic Arm excel here.
